چکیده:
Nowadays, outpatient clinics provide medical care to any applicant in an inexpensive rate in Iran. Demand for these services, becomes more and more generalized during these years. The absence of a good service system results in long queues of patients and the congestion of each clinic, leaving both patients and clinic staff displeased [1].This paper applies numerical simulations and design of experiment technique for identifying critical factors which affect the average waiting time of each patient in queues in a clinic. After defining some factors, the effectiveness or inaction of each factor is determined by using the data found in simulating the process occurred in a clinic from the arrival of a patient until he/she leaves the clinic and by analyzing these data via the design of experiment method. Possible alternative management policies toinimize this waiting time can be executed in a better manner and in a lower cost by using the combination of these two techniques.Numerical simulation is used because of the large cost and time of appointing different conditions which the experiments should be considered in them.
