چکیده:

Geogrid reinforced soil retaining walls are usually designed based on limit equilibrium methods. In these methods, the wall face deformations are not considered in the design. Using numerical approaches, the appraisal of such deformations is possible. In this article, using FLAC3D software a numerical competitive study has been carried out to analyze the effect of inclining wall face and reinforced block (including of embankment, reinforcement and wall face) on the horizontal deformation of Geogrid soil reinforced retaining walls. The purpose of this numerical analysis is achieving optimum performance of these structures. With several modeling it determined that inclining of wall face improves the performance of these systems (horizontal deformation of wall face) to a large extent. But reinforced block rotation around axis Y (perpendicular to wall cross section) to 12 degree angle improves the performance of these systems more. Finally based on the analysis results, an optimum inclination angle introduced that in this angle can use fewer reinforcements in inclined reinforced block whereas this system has similar performance with horizontal reinforced block
