چکیده:

One of the most important issues in modern distribution systems is the optimal placement of automated line switches with regard to investment expenses and outage cost. In this paper, the described issue has been addressed. In this study, the objective function is to achieve the lowest installation cost of the switches versus the benefit obtained by decreasing the outage time. On the other hand, outage cost optimization in a distribution is a multi-purpose non-linear optimization problem. Since the usual methods for solving these problems is impractical, a new algorithm derived from biological functionality of a human immune system is presented to solve the problem of optimal placement of the automated line switches in power distribution networks. The results of implementing this new method on a limited part of Iran electrical energy distribution system, showed the effectiveness of this method.
